Tuesday 11 January 2011

With the Queensland floods responsible for significant devastation and loss of life across Queensland, Pulse provides the following update with respect to its Queensland Hospitals.

The Queensland hospitals operated by Pulse Health Limited account for approximately 20% of Pulse Health Limited's total revenues.

Gympie Private Hospital

The hospital's physical position on high ground has thus far assured it protection from the risk of flooding. The hospital remains open to patient admissions with a strong compliment of nursing and medical cover meeting the needs of the community in which it serves.

Bruce Highway road closures to the north and the south of the town has resulted in some surgeons and staff not being able to access the hospital.

The situation is currently reviewed daily and as applicable, planned operations will be rescheduled and patients kept informed. If you have any concerns as to your attendance at the hospital please do not hesitate to contact the hospital on (07) 5483 0500 for further information.

Gympie Private Hospital collaboratively works with the Public Hospital sector and local community care groups and is well placed to support these sectors with agreements in place. The hospital management and the personnel are to be congratulated on their enterprise during this challenging time.

South Burnett Private Hospital

South Burnett Private Hospital in the township of Kingaroy continues to experience access issues by some personnel as a direct result of road closures. The hospital remains open and fully operational however with a strong compliment of nursing and medical cover and additional capacity to accept patient admissions.

To date, no surgery lists have been affected and all services remain available. The nursing personnel are to be congratulated on their dedication to duty and their strong patient care focus during these difficult times.

Should you have any questions relating to the current operational capacity of South Burnett private Hospital please call (07) 4162 1444 for further information.

Both hospitals are strongly supported by its surgeons, the community, and all our suppliers and our appreciation goes out to them.
